Our Methods

We initially offer a free site assessment where we meet with the resident, ideally at their property, either on our own or with someone from their support network present. We spend anything from 15 minutes to an hour getting to know them and letting them get to know us. We look at the nature and quantity of the hoard as well as the ease of access and the likely co-operation of the resident with us potentially supporting them to create a more appropriate living environment.

We then provide a full written quotation of our suggested intervention.

Clouds End work together with people with Hoarding behaviours or self neglect and establish a sound working relationship with them built on trust and empathy. By working with, not for them, we build a rapport with them and support them to help themselves. This creates longer lasting results as apposed to simply clearing their home against their will which understandably, distresses them and simply leads to further, more extreme hoarding.

Once our de-cluttering support is complete, we then offer an ongoing maintenance service where we visit regularly to assist with general care needs, (shopping, meal preparation, prompting medication, prompting personal hygiene etc) as well as encouraging and helping them to maintain the improved living environment and preventing re-hoarding. Each case is different and we can discuss the requirements of each separate case as is presents.

Costs

De-cluttering support - £55-£60 per person per hour (a typical supportive intervention is normally between £550 and £4,000 for the more extreme cases)

Ongoing maintenance support - £55 per person per hour
